Assemblies
Our first goal is to inspire our youth to become better people, and we reach them through assemblies or group presentations. Our assemblies can fit most any size audience and take about 40 minutes. The agenda for our assemblies most often includes:
- Each assembly is 40 minutes
- Intended for all students and teachers
- Format (slides, video, etc.)
- Format can be tailored to match your needs
This is a great way to get the message to all members of your school... students, teachers and staff.
Breakout Workshop
This optional session is a hands-on workshop for a small number (8-12) of students. It is used for follow-up and further discuss the concepts presented during the assembly.
Clubs
Clubs are like an extended breakout session that meets regularly instead of one single time.
Through a club, schools use Future Leaders for Peace to help create an on-going program. We follow-up on our Assemblies and Breakout Workshops. We customize each program to the needs of the school.
The club format has proven to be the most effective in providing an ongoing framework for students to meet regularly (weekly or bi-monthly), for one hour, with our college-age mentors (or “Guides”) from Future Leaders for Peace.
Each meeting focuses on one of the ten Core Lessons from the Assembly. The meetings begin with an activity or game. This transitions into a discussion. At the end of each meeting, an action (“IPA” or Individual Peace Action) is assigned to the students – something for them to do between meetings that reinforces the message we discussed and apply it in the real world. They discuss the effect of these actions during the next Club meeting.
