Speeches & Assemblies Example - Peace Day in Hawaii

March 2006 was Peace Month in Hawaii and our president made speaking appearances around Honolulu.  On March 18, students and parents celebrated Peace Day by attending workshops on conflict prevention, with Future Leaders For Peace, and conflict mediation, with the Mediation Center of the Pacific.

Peace Day, at the Oahu Country Club in Honolulu, was a big success.  Children, parents, and teachers from across the islands joined us for a day full of workshops.

The day was hosted by The Rotary Club of Honolulu and supported by The Mediation Center of the Pacific.

Hawaii - 2007

We were back in Honolulu during March 2007, one year after our previous visit.  We returned to Iolani School, Winners’ Camp, and worked with Assets High School for the first time.  Our Executive Director also spoke to a number of Rotary clubs around the Honolulu area.

In April we return to work with the Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii and their “Leaders In Training” program.

Please contact us if you would us to lead a workshop at your school or speak to your service club.

Text Box: Summary of the speech our President gave at the Honolulu Rotary Club (second half of page)

“Their treatment of others would return at last upon themselves.  Those who cheated will be cheated.  Those who slandered will be slandered.  For every lie you tell, you will be lied to.  Brutality will be met with brutality.  We get what we give, and to the same degree…. We cannot escape the result of our actions.”
